Like many other people out there I started a blog and had no clue what I was doing. I knew that I wanted to blog, and I really love helping people, so that is what my blog is shaped after. Finding products that I love and sharing them with others. ANYWAY, I told myself once I figured out how to monetize on my blog I was going to share it with everyone that wanted help. I couldn’t have done it without my friend Michelle, but we will get to that in a moment.
**If you already have a blog established, scroll down to learn about making money with your blog.**
Some bloggers start with wordpress.com not wordpress.org last I checked, YOU CAN NOT MONETIZE ON WORDPRESS.COM it’s against their terms of service. Follow these steps and you for sure will be on the right track to start making great money with your blog.
First things first, pick a name. You are going to want to make sure the catchy name you come up with isn’t already taken. You can either type your domain name in below or you can type it into your web browser. If you type your name in below, BlueHost will check to see if its taken for you. HOW GREAT IS THAT!? They will also give you the option to continue right then and there to purchase your domain and get your website going. MAKE SURE to “claim your savings” when the window pops up to get a discount. If you chose to search in your web browser, you are only going to want to search for it once or twice otherwise someone might register the domain as their own, and want you to buy it from them. People are lame that way.
Next, you are going to want to pick a web hosting company. There are many out there such as HostGator, SiteBuilder, or BlueHost just to name a few. I really like Bluehost.com! Why Bluehost you ask? Many reasons, the first one being; they are really cheap! You can start with just a basic package through my link of $3.95 a month, (billed annually) its a $7.99 value. Through my link you also get a free domain which is a $15 value! I highly suggest you pick a 12-36 month term with Bluehost, the longer the term, the more you save.
Second, they make connecting to WordPress so very easy.
Third, their customer support is amazing!
Fourth, if you already have a domain registered, they make it SO EASY to switch.
Fifth, you can make your own email for your website such as firstname.lastname@example.org. **Having an email with your domain name.com makes it SO much easier to get approved with affiliates.**
I really could keep going, there are a lot of benefits to selecting BlueHost as your hosting company. Try them today!
You can pay for a theme if you want to, but WordPress has many FREE themes for you to pick from later.
Next you are going to want to “Install WordPress” from your control panel.
Next LOGIN to WordPress. You can also access your blog and edit it by adding /wp-admin at the end of your blog name. Example, yourblogname.com/wp-admin
THERE YOU GO! YOU DID IT! That took maybe 20 minutes..? You will be so glad you did!
***Now the fun begins!***
If you’re going to be doing the work of a blog, don’t leave money on the table by not signing up for affiliate
marketing. There are a ton of different websites that allow you to be their affiliate.
My friend Michelle has helped me monetize my blog by helping me make sense of affiliate marketing. Let me just tell you, I knew nothing about affiliate marketing before taking her course. I knew you could make money blogging, but I wasn’t sure how you could do so. I tried to do it on my own for THREE months, it wasn’t until I came across this course that everything came together. Michelle’s course Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing helped me become knowledgeable in the area. Who is Michelle you ask? Michelle is a fellow blogger who went from $0 a month to $100,000 a month with affiliate marketing. Seriously! Look at her income report! If you are a seasoned blogger or a new blogger, this course is very beneficial. I took this course when I had 5 posts up, and I am SO GLAD I did so I could learn to blog the right way as a newbie. It also comes with Pinterest Strategies FOR FREE which normally values at $139. Most of your traffic is going to come from Pinterest, so you might as well monetize on those visitors.
