Resource Page For Any Blogger
I put together this recommendation page as a quick resource for those of you needing help with your blog. These are amazing products that have helped me grow my blog to what it is today.
BlueHost– I first started self hosting through BlueHost. I really have no complaints, they are really helpful. The WordPress interface is easy to use. If you are looking to start a blog for cheap, you can start as low as $3.95 a month. Also if you use my link you will get a free domain!
SiteGround– SiteGround is another great way to self host using WordPress. After doing much research, I switched my hosting to SiteGround. I am so glad I made the switch. SiteGrounds support team made the transition practically seamless. To say I am loving it is an understatement. SiteGround starts as low as $3.95 a month using my link. It does not come with a free domain though. Check them out today.
Still not sure which hosting is right for you? Check out this blog on Bluehost vs. SIteground.
If you are a blogger, even brand new at blogging this course is for you. My friend Michelle owns the blog MakingSenseOfCents.com and makes over $50k each month in affiliate income and has the income reports to back it up. This course has taught me so much, it definitely got my blog off on the right foot. You need this course to help you monetize your blog! (I took this course when I had 5 blog posts written and I AM GLAD I DID!) This course also includes an awesome Pinterest strategy from the lovely Rosemarie Groner, and a maximizing Facebook reach and revenue strategy from none other than Monica Louie, and many other helpful tips. It is such a steal for the price.
Oh DTC, how I love thee.
This course is put together by Paul Scrivens (Scrivs). I am a very visual learner, so having this course on video is very helpful for me. With converting to the DTC he has a converted a lot of his videos to text form as well. Now there is also little task lists to check off or little questions at the end to really help trigger your thinking. There are three main topics in this course that are broken down into A BUNCH of smaller categories. Those topics are Pinterest, SEO, and Affiliate Marketing. I have paid for Affiliate Marketing and Pinterest courses before separately because I did not know about DTC before I purchased them. The courses in the DTC are seriously top notch and I have learned even more from them.
Scrivs believes there are seven niches that are successful in the blog world: How to Make Money, Personal Finance, Health and Fitness, Food, Beauty and Fashion, Lifestyle, and Personal Development. He runs 13 blogs and has the income reports to prove what works and what doesn’t. If you are in one of these niches this course is for you. The downside to this course is that it only opens every other month or so.
I also love that we all get to join his group chat on Slack where he answers questions in real time. It is an amazing community all new bloggers should be a part of. Check out the DTC today, you wont regret it.
Pinterest Strategies – Pinterest Stratagies by Rosemarie Groner was the first strategy guide I purchased. Rosemarie runs the BusyBudgeter blog that I love. Rosemarie brilliantly puts together how to master Pinterest in a no BS small 3 page packet. I later found out this exact course is mostly included with the Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing Course, also that Dare To Conquer also has an awesome pinterest strategy. I wouldn’t say I wasted my money but….maybe. *I was new to the blogging world and desperate to wrap my head around it.*
I do love a nice theme for my blog. There are soooo many to choose from. I still have a hard time paying for a theme though, I don’t really know if I am going to want to keep it long enough to justify paying for it. I just go to wordpress.org and find a theme that you like and download it. Pick a theme that is not only appealing to you but to your readers. Remember that you can customize it later. Then go to your WordPress dashboard→ appearance → themes→ upload. I currently use the PLACID theme in case you were curious.
If you are a new blogger, you are probably wondering which plugins you need to get started.
Yoast SEO – Yoast is an amazing tool that helps make your site search engine friendly. It helps you hit the very basics of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It also helps you write posts your visitors will want to read.
Social Warfare– I just use the basic plugin. It easily allows your visitors to share what they are reading to their social media platforms.
Mailerlite– I love Mailerlite because it is the one of the only email programs that is FREE for your first 1000 subscribers, after which is still really really cheap. It has awesome automated email features, it even helps you create a pop up form to get those subscribers. Creating emails is super easy with their click and drop design. Check them out today you won’t be sorry.
PrettyLinks or Thirsty Affiliates– They basically do the same thing. They take your ugly affiliate link that is 100 characters long and simplify it.

Which one would you rather click on? These plugins do all the work for you.
Tailwind– Tailwind has come a long way. I still find their platform not as efficient as I believe it should be, and I find the website really awful to use on my smart phone. However, it has some really awesome features such as tribes, scheduling and looping. With Tailwind tribes you can have an amazing reach for your individual pins. You just save them to the applicable tribes and for tribes before you schedule them.
They now have a pin looping feature which is GREAT! Instead of scheduling or manually pinning your content, you can put them on a loop for them to save to your group boards to create more continuous traffic to your site. I am currently using the PLUS membership along with the TRIBES MAX membership and an ACTIVE SMART LOOPS membership. I dislike that Tailwind nickle and dimes you for everything, but it is so convenient I almost don’t care.
BTW if you use my link, you’ll get a free $15 credit to try TAILWIND out.
