“A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way. ”
With Fathers Day is coming up, I wanted to share with you all what a father looks like in my eyes. I will attach the image as a free printable, and also as a Fathers Day Card for you to enjoy.
When you think of the word Father, what comes to mind?
I think of someone who is Funny! He always finds a way to make you smile. Whether its those stupid dad jokes, or pulling funny faces, or having inside jokes, Dads know how to have a good time.
A Father is a your Pal! He always makes time to play games with you. (Even if you are interrupting his favorite sports team). He is the best at hide and seek. You know, you hide and he will seek you in about 5 minutes, pretending to look for you the whole time. He is also one you can tell your secrets to.
A Father is Strong! He has strength in muscles and in character. He can open any jar you give to him. He can pick you up and fly you to the moon, or at least around the living room. He also has the bravest face. Nothing scares him. Well, lots of things scare him, but he doesn’t let it show. He is there for you in your moments of weakness with open arms. He is the best at wiping your tears away.
A Father is a Hero! He is just an ordinary person, doing ordinary things, that turns into something extraordinary. The vision he sets in place helps achieve goals, dreams, and aspirations for his family.
A Father is a Mentor! He will give you advice and pointers, but ultimately step back and let you figure things out for yourself. You always know he is there for you, from chasing away the bed monsters, wiping away tears, or even just reading a story. Dad knows what his kid needs and does his absolute best to provide it to them.
A Father is a Protector! His family is his most valuable “possession”, if you will, he will do anything to keep it safe and united.
Aren’t Dads the best! Make sure you give yours a big bear hug when you see him next. Drop in the comments what a Father means to you.
